About NYCC
Informing and Educating
Cheerleading Coaches
The National Youth Cheerleading Certification, or NYCC, as it is more commonly referred to, is designed to inform and educate youth cheerleading coaches across the country. In addition, coaches receiving certification will be provided liability insurance protection.
dedicated solely to cheerleading
The NYCC is unique in that it identifies and targets coaches that deal only with cheerleading. It's not a by-product of, nor included as part of other sports certification courses or organizations. The NYCC is dedicated solely to cheerleading!
As you know, cheerleading has changed over the last several years. It is now a spectator sport and a vital part of the success of any athletic program.
Modern Cheerleading
In order to be successful, modern cheerleading squads must be athletic and find innovative ways to express their support for the teams they represent. They must train as hard as their athletic team counterparts.
Due to the competitive and athletic nature of modern cheerleading, coaches must be trained to know much more than what was required in the past. Parents want assurance that coaches know, not only how to impart cheerleading skill, but also how to protect against injury and dehydration. Gone are the days of the housewife mom that coached simply because her child was a member of the squad. Parents, fans and society as a whole expect more from today's cheerleading coaches. You are being held more accountable than ever!
Be Prepared
The goal of the NYCC is to provide information to assist you in addressing the myriad issues you may face as a cheerleading coach. While we can't possibly include all topics, our courses will help prepare you for the majority of issues you might encounter, allowing you and your cheerleaders a more rewarding experience.
After successfully completing the course, you will be able to print a certificate of completion. This certificate can be proudly displayed at your office or practice site to ensure parents and others that you have received the proper training to qualify you as a youth cheerleading coach.
You also will be afforded $1 million in liability insurance coverage that will protect you in the event of legal issues that might arise as a result of your coaching activity. In today's litigious environment, insurance protection is a must!
The NYCC's certification/membership and insurance protection can be yours for the low annual fee of $30. Whether you're new to coaching or you've had years of experience, we hope you will take this opportunity to become certified through the NYCC and take advantage of the valuable insurance protection.
Finally, thanks for being a coach!
Without you, there would be no youth cheerleading!!
